Bangladesh’s remittance inflow climbed 13% year‑on‑year to $11.465 billion during the July‑October period of the 2026‑27 fiscal year, the latest central‑bank data showed. This surge is the strongest performance since the previous fiscal year, highlighting the growing role of foreign‑exchange earnings for the country.
The bulk of the funds come from Middle Eastern employers, with the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait being the key sources. In October alone, remittance inflows rose 12.1% year‑on‑year to $2.874 billion.
In the 2025‑26 fiscal year, total remittances amounted to $35.56 billion. The continued growth reflects robust earnings among Bangladeshis working abroad and helps bolster national foreign‑exchange reserves.
