On Nov. 4, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said four oil tankers on a forbidden route through the Strait of Hormuz hit mines, causing explosions and fires. On Nov. 4, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that four oil tankers that were sailing on a prohibited southern route through the Strait of Hormuz struck naval mines and exploded, setting the vessels on fire, according to its official statement on Sepah News.
IRGC officials said two other ships attempting to cross the strait were also stopped by the guard’s forces.
The guard also claimed it shot down an MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Strait at 4:30 a.m. local time and had previously intercepted two U.S. low‑cost uncrewed combat attack system drones over Bandar-e Khamir.
According to IRGC officials, its forces were ready to deliver a
“final blow” to the United States and Israel
The statement comes as Iran tightened its control of the Strait of Hormuz on Feb. 28, barring safe passage for vessels linked to Israel and the United States after U.S.-Israeli strikes on the country.
