Cat Rescue Alert: Hundreds of Felines Saved in Vietnam

Police in Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province uncovered a criminal network that stole more than 400 cats for the meat trade. The victims included both live and deceased animals.

Nine people were arrested after police traced the group's operations from 2013 to 2016. The thieves allegedly transported stolen cats to hidden facilities and sold them to vendors every two to three days.

The Humane World for Animals says that about 40 of the rescued cats were reunited with their previous owners. However, some cats still live in police custody as evidence.

A recent survey shows growing public opposition to the consumption of dog and cat meat, especially among young pet owners. The story highlights the need for stronger protection of animals and improved transparency in the meat industry.

If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to protect animals, this is a real‑life example that shows how brave people can make a difference. Do you think laws about animal meat should change? Let us know in the comments.
