A troubling surge in violence has emerged as extremist Jewish settlers target Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank. In recent incidents, homes, vehicles, and agricultural lands have been set on fire. The attacks stemmed from the death of Yehuda Sherman, an 18-year-old settler, who allegedly died after being hit by a vehicle driven by a Palestinian.

In response to this tragedy, settler WhatsApp groups incited a 'revenge campaign,' leading to over 20 attacks reported overnight, as stated by Israeli media. The violence has intensified since the beginning of March, following the US-Israel's attack on Iran, where six Palestinians have died at the hands of settler violence.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have deployed troops to the affected areas in an attempt to control the situation. Moreover, footage from Jalud shows individuals, many masked, taking part in these hostile actions. The Palestinian authorities have reacted strongly, condemning the attacks as acts of terror.

This situation escalated further during the settling tensions in the region, with Israeli settlers calling for vengeance and claiming their right to retaliate for perceived threats against them. The global community, including the EU and UK, has urged Israel to take urgent measures to stop the growing violence against Palestinians, thus posing a significant challenge for peace in the region.
