Former US President Joe Biden recently underwent skin cancer surgery, according to a statement from his spokeswoman. The surgery, known as Mohs surgery, is performed to excise cancerous skin until no evidence remains. The 82-year-old leader had been seen with a wound on the right side of his head leading up to the procedure. Biden has previously dealt with skin cancer, having a cancerous lesion removed from his chest in 2023, and was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer earlier this year that has spread to his bones.
Biden shared on social media, 'Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.' He has a history of non-melanoma skin cancers and has largely reduced his public appearances since leaving the White House in January. The Bidens have been advocates for cancer research and support, especially following the death of their son Beau from brain cancer in 2015.
