Around 32 bodies, mostly children, have been dug up from a mass grave in the western Kenyan town of Kericho as investigations continue into the shocking discovery. The exhumation took place after police obtained a court order to retrieve 14 bodies initially believed to be buried at the site. Government pathologist Richard Njoroge reported finding the bodies 'stacked in gunny bags' after a day-long process interrupted by heavy rains. The post-mortem examination is expected to begin soon to identify the bodies and investigate the deaths, amid concerns that some bodies originated from local hospitals and mortuaries. Initial findings indicate a mix of adults and children, raising numerous questions about the burial process and the individuals involved. The National Council of Churches of Kenya has denied any connection to the mass burial, asserting that it was conducted without their approval. The discovery follows a previous incident where hundreds of bodies linked to a cult were found in a forest in 2023.
