The Trump administration on Thursday revoked a scientific finding that climate change is a danger to public health, which President Trump labeled as 'a scam.' However, numerous studies confirm that climate change significantly impacts health, leading to thousands of deaths annually.

Since the 2009 EPA finding—which has served as the basis for key regulations combatting climate change—emerging research continues to indicate how warming temperatures pose serious threats. For instance, a recent JAMA study revealed that heat-related deaths have more than doubled from 1,069 in 1999 to a staggering 2,325 in 2023.

Furthermore, a 2021 study in Nature Climate Change highlighted that one-third of heat deaths are attributable to human-caused climate change, which translates to over 9,700 lives lost globally each year due to greenhouse gas emissions.

Experts argue that denying climate change's health risks is akin to ignoring gravity. Health leaders state that climate change exacerbates various health issues, requiring immediate global action to mitigate its devastating effects.
