An Iranian missile strike has hit the town of Dimona in southern Israel, near a critical nuclear facility. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported no damage to the nuclear research facility located approximately eight miles from Dimona. This incident followed claims from Iranian state television that the strike was in response to an earlier attack on Iran's Natanz nuclear facility. No increase in off-site radiation levels was reported after the attack, according to the IAEA. However, Israel's ambulance service reported treating 40 individuals following the strike, including 37 with minor injuries and a ten-year-old boy in serious condition.

In addition, 68 others were treated after a separate strike in the nearby town of Arad, with many suffering varying degrees of injuries. Israeli authorities are investigating the breach in missile defense systems, noting that interceptors were activated but failed to intercept the threats. This attack has drawn serious concerns since the Shimon Peres Negev Nuclear Research Facility is often linked to Israel's undeclared nuclear arsenal. The situation remains tense, with both Israel and the US emphasizing the necessity of preventing Iran from developing nuclear capabilities.
